(Shout out to Jen Hitchcock for teaching me to make all these!)
One of my favorite houseplants inspired this earring design. I twisted copper wire and sawed small heart shapes out of a copper sheet. Then I used the drill press to drill a small hole in the top "leaf heart" and bent and soldered the leaves onto the twisted vines. I did my best to clean up the excess solder with a Dremel, made two jump rings, and attached to the hanger hardware.
I made a bezel set cabochon pendant. I averaged the length and width of the cabochon stone, added the thickness of my copper wire, and multiplied by pi to get the length of my wire needed to create my bezel. I textured and put my initials on a backplate and soldered the bezel onto the backplate. Then I cut out and polished my pendant before popping in my cabochon stone and securing it in place!
My first attempt at making a ring - I carved the swirl shape in wax and used investment molding and casting to create my bronze ring. Unfortunately, it is a bit small ... so I have to yank it off my finger. But after polishing it is nice and shiny :).
My first metal jewelry attempt ever! I cut out a simple cat head shape, drilled a hole in one ear, and stamped the cat face + a message on the back of the pendant. The eyes are a "0" stamp I held sideways, the mouth is an upside down "Y" stamp, and the whiskers are "I" stamps. Then I curved one ear with pliers. The pendant now hangs on my backpack.
