Eyeball Cake
I made an eyeball cake for my final week as a temporary R&D Engineer at Myra Vision. It is based on the Swedish Prinsesstårta. While the traditional cake uses a vanilla sponge, I opted for a chocolate layer cake. Here is my favorite recipe! This cake had vanilla custard and raspberry jam sandwiched between two layers of chocolate cake, topped with a dome of mascarpone whipped cream, and covered in marzipan. A marzipan Calibreye is implanted in the "eye". Though it wasn't my original intention, the dome of mascarpone whipped cream could model the aqueous humor of the eye :). Not an engineering project, but fun nonetheless.
